Sunday March 2, 2014, the Terrace Park Historical Society hosted a program featuring circus historian and model-maker, George McIlveen. The event was held at the Terrace Park Elementary School library. George spoke about the history of the Robinson Circus and how the Civil War helped expand and broaden audiences for the performances. He also told about how he became interested in circus history and what prompted him to delve into the world of building model trains.
McIlveen has been a member of Circus Model Builders for 30 years, as well as a member of the local railway historical society, Civil War Roundtable.
Last year, George donated dozens of his Robinson Circus models to the Terrace Park Historical Society, where they are on display in our musuem.
